New series! New siblings! New setting! And a Heartsick giveaway!

I have fun news to share—I’m writing a new series!!

The deal announcement reads: Kristina Forest’s THE SUMMER GIRLFRIEND, the first in a series about siblings and their summers at a New Jersey beach, in which a woman who takes various side gigs to save up to go back to college is hired to play the girlfriend of the heir to a baked goods company, but the job gets complicated when she spends the summer with his family at their beach house, to Angela Kim and Cindy Hwang at Berkley, in a two-book deal, for publication in summer 2026, by Sara Crowe at Sara Crowe Literary

The Summer Girlfriend will be on shelves next summer! I can’t wait for everyone to meet Noelle and Jeremiah. I won’t say too much about the plot yet because I’m still in in the middle of working on the book, but what I can say is that TSG is about family (I always seem to be writing about family lol), Black generational wealth, and how love can be discovered in the most surprising circumstances. It’s also inspired by my love for NJ beaches, particularly Wildwood and Ocean City, which I grew up visiting.

The Summer Girlfriend will be the first in a new series! When I initially pitched this series idea to my team, my intention was—and still is—to write juicy, swoony, summer romances featuring Black characters. I’ve been enjoying the process of working on TSG’s first draft, and I almost never feel that way about first drafts lol, so I think that’s a good sign.

Thank you all so much for your support of The Greene Sisters. Because of your support of those books, I am able to write more books! (I also know that some people are sad that The Greene Sisters series has ended! There won’t be a fourth book because each sister received her HEA, but I am really humbled that people wish there was a fourth book lol!) If you liked The Greene Sisters, I think you will also like this new series. There will be a new setting with new characters, but my vibe is still my vibe lol.
